            Willowbank School

One newspaper article and picture of Willowbank School.

For the first time in 41 years "the little red school house" at Willowbank, west of Gananoque, did not accept pupils Tuesday. Front of Leeds and Lansdowne Township Area Board closed the one-room school during the summer and sold the building recently to Gananoque garage man Ken Heaslip. He plans to add a two-car garage with overhead kitchen and convert "No. 1 School" to a residence. His bid of $4,626 was the highest bid of eight tenders for the building. Willowbank students were transported to Hiscocks Central School northeast of Gananoque.
