Material was accumulated by Randy Frith at his home over the years he was a member and Chair of LACAC in Front of Escott Twp. He returned it in 2015.
Scope and content
Collection consists of: -- very large heavy hardbound account book from Mallorytown Consolidated School 1921-1939 (This item passed on the Mallorytown Archives) -- 3-ring binder containing photocopies of various histories of Rockport as well as individual items and photographs (placed in General Research Library) – an envelope of negatives addressed to Randy Frith from Brockville Museum. Negatives are from Murray Studio in Brockville, of various schools in Leeds and Grenville. Lions Club including meeting in Rockport Recreation Hall and a parade in Ottawa. – small file of clippings about Rockport Breakfast Club events. –collection of material and photos on Rockport Recreation Hall, formerly Rockport School (Escott SS #14) collected in the 1980s and “90s. – Sign-out book from Rockport School Library 1915-1957. – book “Continuous Record of Promotion” from Rockport School, 1919-1944. – book “Daily Register” from Rockport School 1964-66. -- File of 30 photos of Poole’s Boarding House on Grenadier Island taken during demolition 1997. – File containing 5 photos of the houseboat “Amaryllis”, 1 photo of LaRue Cemetery, 6 photos of LaRue House and barn, 7 photos of Escott Old Town Hall (archives building), 10 photos and negatives of a celebration at the Seaman House in Rockport July 1st, 1996 -- File containing various unidentified photos and negatives from Escott LACAC . – Financial Reports for 1951 for Front of Escott Schools # 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, & 20, Front of Escott and Front of Leeds & Lansdowne union schools # 15 & 18, Front of Yonge schools # 7, 8 &9, Front of Yonge and Elizabethtown union Schools #1, 2, 3, &8, and Mallorytown Consolidated School, with letters of transmittal. – Research files from Escott LACAC for buildings on County Rd 2 (old Hwy #2) incuding Springfield House, Escott Town Hall, Brooker/Hutchinson House, #1417 Cty Rd 2, #1441 Cty Rd 2, Nicholson House with history of Escott Copper Mine, and the John Cook House ( ex John Player) including sketches of wall stenciling by Mr. Dale.
