    Administrative history

    The Lansdowne Women’s Institute was established in 1909 and the first meeting was held on June 18 at the Lansdowne Town Hall. The first President was Mrs. John Darling. The Branch was part of the Leeds District, alternatively listed as Leeds East or Brockville District.

    The Branch is still active.

    The fonds is comprised of the records of the Lansdowne Women's Institute, including branch minutes books, as well as the minutes books of the Brockville (later Leeds East) District of the Women's Institute of Ontario. These Minutes Books also include membership lists and financial records, and are organized chronologically. Series are:

    1. Branch Minute Books
    2. District Minute Books.
